Operating Model & Governance FAQ

Below are the most common institutional-grade questions we receive on the AgriPortion model. The answers follow the same operating disclosures used during partner onboarding — covering tray economics, greenhouse selection, auditing, taxation, and long-term plan continuity.
01
Who legally owns the greenhouse assets and the produce?
Greenhouse infrastructure and land are owned by our vetted regional operating partners under long-term contract with AgriPortion Singapore. Each cultivation tray is a structured participation linked to the output of a specific greenhouse cycle — governance, escrow arrangements and off-take contracts are disclosed in your participant agreement during onboarding.
02
How are partner greenhouses audited and what standards apply?
Every AgriPortion greenhouse operates under documented standard operating procedures covering seeding, climate, IPM, harvest QA and cold chain. Facilities undergo scheduled internal operational audits plus annual third-party assessments aligned with GlobalG.A.P.-equivalent protocols. Audit summaries are published per cycle in the participant document centre.
03
What happens if a cycle underperforms or is impacted by crop loss?
Each plan is built on conservative historical yield baselines and diversified across crop lines (microgreens, mushrooms, peppers) and facilities. In the event of a below-baseline cycle, the central operations team issues a formal variance notice with root-cause analysis and recovery plan. The plan listing page and your dashboard always reflect the current per-plan methodology.
04
Are returns guaranteed and what do the projections assume?
Projections shown in the calculator and on each plan card are targets based on documented SOP baselines, historical yield and historical off-take pricing — they are not guarantees. Every plan page and participant account clearly differentiates between target projection, cycle actual, and audited year-end actual for full comparability.
05
How and when are distributions processed?
Per-cycle distributions follow the schedule of the selected plan and are processed through the participant wallet. Capital return timing depends on whether the plan is marked as Capital Included (chip shown on plan cards) or Capital Returned within cycle distribution. All dates are shown on your cycle calendar and in the distribution confirmation notifications.
06
Is KYC required and what documents are accepted?
Yes — identity verification is required before any plan activation. Accepted documents include government-issued photo ID, proof of address dated within 90 days, and for entity participants, certificate of incorporation + register of directors. KYC is handled from the participant portal and is normally completed within one business day.
07
What are the tax implications across jurisdictions?
Participants are individually responsible for their own tax reporting. AgriPortion issues cycle-level transaction statements, annual summaries and the documentation needed to support your local filing. Specific tax advice should be obtained from your accountant or qualified advisor based on your tax residence.
08
Can I cancel or exit a plan before the end of the cycle?
Once activated, a cultivation plan is tied to the specific greenhouse cycle it funds and is not cancellable mid-cycle, as the corresponding tray space, inputs and SOP labour have already been allocated. You can however opt to stop auto-scheduling at any point and your plan will end at the current cycle's final distribution.
